The pots were first bisque fired in an electric kiln. They were oxidation fired to cone 010 which is approximately 1650 degrees fahrenheit. I wrapped banana peels, clementine and grapefruit peels around the pots and placed them in sawdust in the bottom of the pit. I sprinkled copper carbonate and salt around each pot. The pit was then loaded with wood and set on fire. When the pots became visible another load of wood was added on top and the pit was closed with sheets of metal.
